August 2nd - Chayala'la Birthday

 Party day!

Yesterday the children helped me plan Chayala's birthday, they wanted a cake, games, decorations, a party table, a present and more.

This morning Chaya'la got a beautiful birthday crown and the children made decorations and set up games. We went outside played bowling and to bat balloons with pool noodles. Sarena brought a beautiful cake and we sang together. It was a happy celebration!

Later the children had a blast playing slip and slide!

July 28th - Painting with leaves

 Green leaves and different shades of green paint.

This morning I collected different shape and size leaves and I started to make paintbrushes, the children used their skills to help me finish the job. We used different shades of blue, green and yellow paint. The activity provoked conversations about the colors and the results they were getting from their natural paint brushes.

July 27th - Gardening

Today the children had a chance to observe a potato with growing roots and stalks. They questioned why the potato was only drinking water. The children used a mud mix with different amounts of water to paint. The best part was making holes in a big container to plant some seeds. The children were engaged and were following the steps from the seed packages. We have an indoor garden now!
