July 28th - Painting with leaves

Green leaves and different shades of green paint.
This morning I collected different shape and size leaves and I started to make paintbrushes, the children used their skills to help me finish the job. We used different shades of blue, green and yellow paint. The activity provoked conversations about the colors and the results they were getting from their natural paint brushes.

July 27th - Gardening

Today the children had a chance to observe a potato with growing roots and stalks. They questioned why the potato was only drinking water. The children used a mud mix with different amounts of water to paint. The best part was making holes in a big container to plant some seeds. The children were engaged and were following the steps from the seed packages. We have an indoor garden now!

July 25th - Nature

What a hot day!
The children experienced nature indoors because of the heat.
We talked about the life cycle of a plant. The children were excited to see roots growing out of a leaflet in water.
Today each one of the children planted a bean, and we are going to watch closely for the first roots to sprout.
